Tell a little about yourself:
I am 15 years old; a country boy born November 4, 2005. I’ve been homeschooled since I was seven years old.
My main goal is to improve daily; to become a better Christian, brother, friend and overall person.
What are your hobbies?
My favorite this is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I’ve been studying Jiu Jitsu for a couple of years. I’m a huge nerd for the sport! It’s where I’ve found all of my friends and favorite people.
As a country boy, I also enjoy hunting; the thrill of the hunt is a different kind of rush. Plus, there’s the fact that I can confidently provide food for my family brings a smile to my face. Riding and working on motorcycles is another example of how I have fun. The technical part of it and the puzzle-like nature of it makes it enjoyable.
What do you think about homeschooling?
I believe homeschooling, if done correctly, is very beneficial to the student’s growth in multiple areas of life. Homeschooling has worked so well for the that I’m going to be homeschooling my own children one day.
What is your favorite subject?
My favorite subject, by far, is Portuguese. The process of learning a language is difficult and challenging, but that’s what makes it fun.
What is your least favorite subject?
My least favorite subject is any form of math/logic, not because it’s challenging, I always enjoy a challenge if that is the case. But, because of the monotony of it.
What do you plan to do with your life?
My overall plan is to live for God and do his work, all while providing a good life for my family. I plan to acquire a career in HVAC, which could lead to multiple other job opportunities. My dream is to become a BJJ world champion, and while traveling that path, I’ll keep the Lord in my sights.
You plan to homestead, so what are those plans?
The ultimate goal for my homestead is to have a self-sufficient base of operations. I want it to be equipped with a two story barn, a large greenhouse, the main house and a hoop house. Each building has a different use. The barn will be my extended storage and home for multiple types of animals, such as horses, chickens and sheep. The greenhouse, hoop house and outside garden will be where I grow and produce all of my vegetables, fruits and herbs. Throughout my property, I plan on placing several types of fruit trees as well.
What do you like most about homesteading?
Homesteading teaches an array of skills, experience and knowledge about how to live off of the land and provide for yourself. I have a love for learning; homesteading and homeschooling offer numerous chances to teach you something.
